When I realized that Brussels was only an hour north of Paris, I hopped on a train and north I went with a backpack and most importantly, my camera. Brussels is often referred to the capital of the European Union – most official government meetings and conferences are held in Brussels.
The first place I visited was Galeries Royales St. Hubert where it is known for its architecture and its glass covered hall. Inside the Galeries Royales St. Hubert are cafes, unique shops and places abound to sit and watch the world go by.
Beautifully symmetrical and wonderfully warm.
While in Brussels, the streets of the Grand Place were lined with holiday markets.
Market stands offered hot, spiced wine, foie gras and local fares.
The Grand Place in Brussels holds the royal houses of old in all their architectural splendor and gold.
