THE BEGINNINGS

My interest in photography began when I saw a camera in a window. Having grown up in Chicago, I would visit The Art Institute of Chicago, Museum of Contemporary Art and the Chicago Cultural Center. The museum showcased photographers who revolutionized the art form and the cultural center showcased local artists and photographers focusing on the people and community of Chicago’s south side. The following photographs are the remaining images I captured with a Minolta XG-M 35mm film camera and developed in a darkroom. I would wander through the city, watch the people go by, capturing pieces of Chicago that belong to my youth.
